Apple will likely reveal new smartphone models in the second and third quarters of next year, a recent report from International Business Times suggests.
According to the article, the Cupertino giant will first release the direct successor to the iPhone 5s in May, and then follow up with another iPhone announcement in October. The first smartphone is expected to feature a much larger screen compared to all of the previous generation iPhones, and will likely possess an entirely new A8 or modified A7 processor.
The other iPhone, IBT notes, is scheduled for a release at some point in October or November. Rumor has it that the model will feature a curved body fused with sapphires, a 20 nm CPU made by TSMC, and a screen display measuring between 4.8 inches and 6 inches. The device is also speculated to make use of components made entirely out of liquid metal, although Apple has yet to officially comment on this rumor.
