Xiaomi to Launch Redmi Phone Worldwide

12 Feb

Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi will be strengthening its global marketing campaign with the new Redmi phone, with ex-Google employee Hugo Barra set to present the device, according to various sources. The smartphone, like the “Hongmi” phone released in China during 2013, will likely feature the same 4.7-inch 720p display, 1.5 Ghz quad core processor (with 1GB RAM), 8 MP and 1.3 MP rear and front cameras, respectively, and 4GB of storage. The price, not too surprisingly, is expected to fall within the range of $ 130 USD, making it relatively more affordable than Google’s Moto G and arguably one of the cheapest high-performance Android devices on the market.
