TSMC to Improve 20nm Production Yield to 70K per Month, Report Says

The renowned contracted chip manufacturer from Taiwan, TSMC, may be able to fulfill Apple’s next-gen chip orders after all.

According to a recent report released from the research firm, BlueFin Research Partners, the Taiwanese company will begin to raise the production output for its 20nm products as early this week, and attempt to manufacture as many as 30 thousands wafers by the end of June.

The Taiwanese company’s ultimate goal, the research firm notes, is to produce up to 65-70 thousand wafers by the end of 2014.
