TSMC begins 2014 with Strong First Quarter Performance

11 Apr

TSMC’s 1Q14 revenues grew 1.65% quarter-on-quarter and 11.7% year-on-year to 148.22 Billion NTD, beating the company’s own estimates and the average expectations set by various market watchers.

“The first-quarter upside is perhaps a good prelude to an already anticipated strong year,” noted Lora Ho, a key spokesperson for TSMC.

During March alone, TSMC’s consolidated revenue reached a total of $49.96 billion NTD, which is up 6.7% compared to the previous month and 13.2% compared to March 2013.

The Taiwanese company is said to be highly confident that its revenue “would grow by a double-digit percentage rate annually this year,” according to Taipei Times.
