XYZprinting to show 3D printing, cloud and IoT products at Computex

20 May

The 3D printing industry has substantial business opportunities; many research institutes forecast twofold growth in 3D printer shipments every year, as low-cost consumer 3D printers hit the market and the industrial demand increases. Simon Shen, chairman of Taiwanese manufacturer XYZprinting, said earlier this year that the company may take the lead in market share if it meets its target of shipping 100,000 units this year.

In addition to 3D printers, XYZprinting is also slated to showcase cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) products at Computex Taipei when the expo kicks off on June 2. Among the 3D printers to be on display is the da Vinci 1.0 AiO, the all-in-one printer that allows users to scan and print. The Nobel 1.0, which won Editors’ Choice Award at the CES 2015 and boasts high product quality, and the da Vinci junior, which won PC Magazine’s Best of CES award and TWICE’s CES Award and is intended for educational purposes, will also be shown at the expo.

XYZprinting 3D Food Printer will also be showcased. The product won the “Top Tech of CES 2015 Award” and will enter mass production in Q4 this year. The food printer utilizes recipes over the cloud and has a touch screen, bringing another hi-tech application to future everyday life.

XYZprinting will also show off its cloud and IoT products at the upcoming Computex, such as XYZ Robot, XYZ Health, XYZ Cloud and XYZ Cube.

The XYZ Robot is a service robot and is fitted with functions such as GPS, IoT and monitoring. The XYZ Health includes a smart garment that can track personal workout performance and physical activities and a device that measures and monitors heart rate, respiratory rate and EKG. The XYZ Cloud is a basic infrastructure over the cloud that helps users set up personal cloud space. Meanwhile, the XYZ Cube serves as a plant factory that grows vegetables in an energy efficient system.
