Computex is big business: CNA

Computex Taipei, the world’s second largest computer show and top PC exhibition in Asia, generated US$25 billion in business opportunities this year, Taiwan’s Central News Agency reported.

The 5-day technology fair, which ran from June 2 to June 6, attracted more than 1700 companies from both Taiwan and overseas who displayed their products at over 5,000 pavilions.

About 38,000 buyers from 165 countries visited Computex, according to the Central News Agency. Buyers from Asia comprised 70 percent of the total. The countries with the most buyers at Computex included China, Japan, the United States, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Thailand and India.

Next year, Computex Taipei will be held May 31 to June 4, according to the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) one of the main sponsors of the show.
