Many Instagram users were flabbergasted of late when they found that they were unable to temporarily disable their accounts. The ability to temporarily disable one’s account has formed part and parcel of most social networks and has been available within Instagram. However, an Instagram bug has been preventing users from deleting their account.

So social networks often offer us the ability to deactivate our accoutns on a temporary basis. Why? So that we can get away from all the virtual chatter and stay away from other people on the web. So what account disabling feature does, is that it will temporarily hide your profile, photos, comments and likes until you want to reactivate your account by logging back in.

The feature is  also a way for users to keep themseves from wasting time when they are working on a project or say, embarking upon exam preparations. So of course, it sucked when the feature suddenly stopped working. See the thing was that the feature could not be accessed from within the app anyways. However, it can no longer be made to perform its function from the web browser either. This issue is not new either, and has been pervading users since the past few months.

Meanwhile, Instagram has now taken cognizance of the matter. Click on the button to disable the feature and you will be taken to a page that has the following message:

Sorry, something went wrong, We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.

Let’s see how soon the company manages to resolve the issue. The Instagram platform had also been facing issues today, but they appear to have been fixed and the platform restored to normal.
