Toshiba Memory America, Inc. (TMA), the U.S.-based subsidiary of Toshiba Memory Corporation, today announced that its KumoScale™ NVM Express™ over Fabrics (NVMe-oF™) storage software has received an Interop ‘Best of Show’ award in the Server & Storage category.

Interop Tokyo is the largest information and communication technology exhibition in Japan, and their ‘Best of Show’ awards recognize companies that have demonstrated originality and potential market impact with their innovative products. Finalists were selected from the more than 500 companies introducing products, solutions and services at the show, with winners being chosen by juries of IT professionals.

With its KumoScale storage software, Toshiba Memory makes flash storage accessible over a data center network – allowing data centers to run more efficiently. KumoScale addresses the inefficiencies associated with direct-attached storage (DAS) architectures by disaggregating the high-performance NVMe™ SSDs from compute nodes and making them shared and available across a network infrastructure as network-attached resources.

“By enabling NVMe ‘flash-as-a-service,’ the latest version of our KumoScale software can deliver significant efficiency gains in cloud data center infrastructure – and Interop Tokyo’s recognition of this is great validation,” noted Joel Dedrick, vice president and general manager, networked storage software, Toshiba Memory America, Inc. “KumoScale makes disaggregated storage in the cloud a reality by allowing private clouds to be built more effectively on NVMe-oF-based networks and seamlessly integrating with leading automated container orchestration, telemetry and logging services.”
