Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak and Alibaba Group’s Executive Chairman Jack Ma today witnessed the signing of a Letter of Intent that will see Thailand and Alibaba cooperate on a range of initiatives to develop e-commerce in the country through providing training to SMEs and individuals, and exploring ways to enhance the country’s logistics capabilities to support Thailand 4.0 and Digital Economy strategies. Alibaba’s YunOS Gaining Popularity in China

Alibaba’s mobile operating system YunOS will have 14% of the Chinese market by the end of the year, making it the second-largest mobile OS in China after Google’s Android, the South China Morning Post reported. Despite China’s Slowdown, Alibaba Performs Well in Fiscal Second Quarter

On Wednesday Alibaba said its sales rose 55 percent to $5.14 billion in its fiscal second quarter from the same period in 2015. Net profit decreased 69 percent from a year ago, to $1.06 billion, because of a one-off accounting gain in 2015. (more…)
