Apple and Amazon to ‘chip in funds’ with Foxconn to buy Toshiba’s memory business

Toshiba’s financial troubles have pushed the technology giant to offload its NAND memory business to a third-party, even when it’s facing some amount of retaliation from its widely-known partner Western Digital (WD). The front runners for the acquisition of the complete (or majority stake) in the said division are Foxconn, Broadcom, and several others. Apple’s Siri speaker said to have already entered production, ahead of WWDC’17: Report

Apple could be working on a chip dedicated to AI services

Apple is working on a chip that is dedicated to Artificial Intelligence. The report comes from Bloomberg, which also said that the chip will allow all the devices on Apple’s ecosystem, to get better at tasks that require a human level of intelligence.  The chip is being refereed to as the Apple Neural Engine, and it could boost the company’s efforts in facial recognition and speech recognition. Apple Watch is the most reliable when it comes to measuring heart rate

Standford University has recently come up with a brand new study that hails the Apple Watch as the best when it comes to the accuracy of modern fitness trackers. Apple Awards Corning First Advanced Manufacturing Fund Investment

Apple has announced Corning Incorporated will receive $200 million from Apple’s new Advanced Manufacturing Fund as part of the company’s commitment to foster innovation among American manufacturers. The investment will support Corning’s R&D, capital equipment needs and state-of-the-art glass processing. Corning’s 65-year-old Harrodsburg facility has been integral to the 10-year collaboration between these two innovative companies and will be the focus of Apple’s investment. (more…)
