LG Posts Best Quarterly Profit in the Last Eight Years, Mobile Sales Continue to Struggle

After a stint of eight long years, LG Electronics posted its best first quarter operating profit, courtesy of staggering sales of essential electronic devices like televisions, refrigerators and washers in Asia and Latin America. LG said on Thursday that its January-March profit was 922 billion won ($816 million), up by 82% from a year ago and in line with its estimates earlier in April. (more…)

Lenovo’s Third Quarter FY 2016/17 Results Led by Growth In PC Business

Lenovo Group has announced results for its third fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2016. Quarterly revenue was US$12.2 billion, a six percent decrease year-over-year. Third quarter pre-tax income was US$101 million, a 68 percent decline year-over-year. Net income fell 67 percent year-over-year to US$98 million. (more…)

Before the party, Inventec Chairman Richard Lee shared his prospects for 2017 during a media interview. Lee says the information presented by each business unit shows that Inventec will enjoy stronger sales performance in 2017 than in 2016.
