ASE Group Realized NT $1.79 EPS for First Three Quarters in 2016, Projected Decline in 4Q16

Taiwanese independent semiconductor assembling and test manufacturer ASE Group announced its Q316 earnings on October 27. According to the financial results, the company’s consolidated revenue income rose to NT $72.7 billion (US $2.29 billion), which represents an increase of 11% compared to the previous quarter, and growth of 13% year on year (YoY). The gross margin almost remained unchanged at 19.4%, which is very similar to that of 19.6% in 2Q16 but slightly higher than 3Q15’s 17.8%. (more…)

FIH Mobile Limited Warns of 52% Drop in Net Profit for 2016 Compared to 2015

According to the net profit warning released by FIH Mobile Limited, the subsidiary of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. at Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing (HKEX) on October 3rd, it is expected that the amount of profit earned by the company in 2016 will be less than USD $110 Million (equivalent of NTD$ 3.445 Billion) (more…)

UMC and VIS Post Improved OEM Wafer Sales during Peak Season

As the traditional peak season has arrived and the out-of-stock situation is coming to an end, a growing number of original equipment manufacturers have gradually increase their productivity. Apart from TSMC, whose revenues rose to a new high in August, the sales of manufacturers such as UMC and VIS surged as well, climbing up by 2% and 4% respectively. HP Beats Analyst Expectations in Third Quarter, Reports $11.9 Billion Revenues with Stabilized PC Sales

HP, the second-largest PC manufacturer after Lenovo, recently announced its third quarter earnings report. It reported a revenue of $11.9 billion and $783 million in earnings (48 cents a share). Although the numbers declined from the period last year but they managed to beat analyst estimates which had pegged revenues at $11.44 billion and an EPS of 44 cents. (more…)

Toshiba Out of the Red 6 Quarters After Accounting Scandal

After the accounting scandal in March 2015, Toshiba’s reputation had plummeted hard. Its income, likewise, was heavily impacted by the critical slump of the sales of products such as LCD TVs, PCs, and other appliances. GIC Buys a 71% Stake in US Property Firm Yes! Communities along with Another Investor
