Will Foxconn and ARM Build a Chip-Design Center in Shenzhen?

Japan’s Nikkei Asian Review reported Thursday that Foxconn and ARM are planning to set up a chip design center in Shenzhen. According to sources Nikkei spoke with, Foxconn aims to tap new sources of growth as global smartphone demand flags. Sharp Aims for Japanese Market to Sell Low-Cost Smartphone Made by Foxconn

Foxconn Boosts Investment in Tink Labs

Foxconn announced Wednesday it has pledged $125 million to startup Tink Labs, known for its specialty smartphone Handy used in hotels. Handys are equipped with built-in concierge and travel applications, and also support unlimited internet access as well as local and international calls. Dai Hosted Sharp’s Strategic Meeting, Calls for Loss Reduction for Second Half of 2016

Following the completion of Hon Hai’s merger with Japanese enterprise Sharp, the strategic meeting of Sharp is to be hosted by Hon Hai from now on.
