LinkedIn’s Mobile App Has Been Forced Out of iOS and Android App Stores in Russia

Largan Precision’s Dec. Revenues Edged up with a Historical High Stock Price in TWSE

The Taiwan Stock Exchange’s price leader Largan Precision Co., Ltd. announced its self-clearing revenue in December on January 5. According to its financial report, its December consolidated sales reached NT $5.446 billion, up 5% than its November figure and up 37% from the same period in 2015. Largan’s revenue has maintained at peak, so foreign investors kept on raising their recommendation rating and target price. Hence, on Jan. 5, its closing price increased NT $270, and its stock price closed at a historic new peak of NT $4,050 per share, also a highest-ever new record price of Taiwan Stock Exchange. Apple May Bring in Macbooks with IGZO Panels, This Year

Reports from IHS state that indium gallium zinc oxide(IGZO) materials would be used in Apple’s MacBook Pro displays as soon as this year. CES 2017 Reveals AR/VR Industry Has Shifted Its Focus From Hardware to Applications, TrendForce Reports

AR and VR continue to grab attention worldwide and their uses have expanded into tourism, work, warehousing operations and drones, reports TrendForce from CES 2017. The related demonstrations and announcements made at this year’s event have shown that the AR/VR industry as a whole is shifting its focus from hardware development to expanding applications. TrendForce forecasts that the annual global shipments of VR devices will reach 5.1 million units in 2017 and grow to 8.5 million in 2018. Note that the projected figures exclude mobile VR products. Apple’s App Store Sees More than $20 Billion in Sales in 2016

Apple said Thursday that its App Store recorded more than $20 billion in sales for developers last year, a new record. The App Store’s business remains solid even as iPhone sales volumes are falling. Haneda Airport Introduces Robots for Cleaning, Luggage Transportation, and Information Services

In light of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Japan’s Haneda Airport has initiated a robot experiment program recently. Robots developed by 17 companies have been introduced to the airport to support travel services, thereby testing their operational safety and service efficiency in public spaces. The ultimate goal is to accelerate the adoption of robotic technologies and hence improve service quality. Travellers will see the robotic ground crew at the Departure Lobby located south of Haneda Airport’s Domestic Terminal 2. (more…)
