An Android-Powered Motorola Tablet with a ‘Productivity Feature’ Maybe Coming Soon

Yesterday, we reported that the tablet market continued to shrink for the tenth straight quarter, according to IDC. This development has now coincided with rumors of Motorola working on an Android-powered tablet device. This will be a first for the Lenovo-owned company in a long while. Tablet Shipments Continue to Sink for Tenth Straight Quarter: IDC

The tablet market continues to suffer the downfall for a straight 10 quarter in a row. Global tablet shipment witnessed a downfall of 8.5 percent year-over-year decline in the Q1 of 2017.  Merely 36.2 million units were shipped around the globe against the 39.6 million units in the same quarter in the previous year. The only sigh of relief is that the downfall rate is slightly less than that of the previous five quarters, which all suffered with double-digit drops. (more…)

Global Tablet Shipments Fell by Just 6.6% Annually in 2016 as Brands Registered Above Expected Results, Says TrendForce

Asus Still Taiwan’s No. 1 Tablet Maker as It Launches Latest ZenPad

Asus said Thursday that it remains Taiwan’s’ No. 1 tablet maker. Citing market data, Asustek its share of the Taiwan tablet market stood at above 34% in July, up from just under 33% a month earlier. The company says it has held above 30% of the Taiwan tablet market for a long time. (more…)

Dell Puts Its Android Tablets on Hold, to Focus on Windows Devices
