Huawei to release smart TVs?

Xiaomi’s Mi TV isn’t about to be the only smart TV in China released by a major smartphone brand, it appears: Following rumors that Huawei would be releasing products other than traditional smartphones and telecom equipment, the Chinese company’s Business Unit Director, Liu Jeng Fung, made a confirmatory statement suggesting that his company, too, would be interested in developing a smart TV:

South Korean Telecom Firms May Adopt Huawei’s LTE-A Chipsets: Report

Local sources said that South Korean mobile telecommunications companies are worried that their 4G LTE-A networks overly rely on the technology provided by Qualcomm, so they are considering buying chipsets from Huawei Technologies, a Chinese networking and telecommunications equipment and services supplier, to diversify the channels for chipset procurement.
